New Lastofa Forte Cotton quality complements Merino version and supports more tailored patient consultations
Ofa is expanding its flat-knitted portfolio and will offer Lastofa Forte in two material qualities from 1 August: Lastofa Forte Merino (for arm and leg compression garments) and Lastofa Forte Cotton (for leg compression garments). With this portfolio expansion, the manufacturer of medical compression stockings continues its focus on high-quality natural materials and enables an even more targeted, material-based selection within an established flat-knitted compression garment range.
Lastofa Forte is positioned as a flat-knitted made-to-measure compression garment for the treatment of lipoedema and lymphoedema. Its medical features are designed for safe and practical everyday use, including firm working pressure, extra-flat seams to help prevent pressure points, and a special surface structure that makes donning and doffing easier. The goal is to combine high therapeutic effectiveness with excellent wearing comfort.
Two qualities for individual needs
The two qualities differ in their material construction: The new Lastofa Forte Cotton quality, available for leg compression garments, features fine organic cotton directly against the skin, providing a natural, close-to-the-skin wearing sensation. Lastofa Forte Merino, available for arm and leg compression garments, uses refined, mulesing-free merino wool encased in microfibre. This allows the temperature-regulating and moisture-managing properties of merino wool to be utilised without direct skin contact.
Within the same flat-knitted made-to-measure compression concept, different skin needs and wearing preferences can therefore be addressed in a targeted way. This provides greater clarity within the product range and supports a tailored product selection during patient consultations.
The right quality for every preference
“In clinical practice, we see that the choice of material plays a key role in patient acceptance and willingness to wear compression garments,” says Reinhard Hanke, Product Manager at Ofa in Bamberg. “It contributes significantly to helping patients feel comfortable with their compression garment and trust it over the long term.”
